Open Tread Staircase

This open tread staircase single handedly sold the place to me.  I am still completely fascinated that it has held up so well since the 1950's.  The only person who wasn't such a fan was my Boston Terrier puppy who took 6 months to build up the courage to go up and down the stairs by herself.  Now she loves to go half way down and turn and look at you through the slats (see cute photo above!)
